Stablecoin yield platforms paid between 1.75% and 7.4% in their latest published rates (13 October 2026; Coinbase and Kraken from July). Curated stablecoin vaults paid the most, and tokenized Treasury funds paid 3.5% to 3.8% to qualified investors.

Imagine a finance team holding $5 million of USDC on a Friday afternoon, with payroll due in two weeks and nothing earning on the balance. The best stablecoin yield platforms it can use today fall into four groups: curated stablecoin vaults such as Upshift and Morpho, lending markets such as Aave and Spark, savings and synthetic dollars such as Sky's sUSDS and Ethena's sUSDe, and tokenized Treasury funds such as BlackRock's BUIDL and Superstate's USTB. Exchange programs at Coinbase and Kraken sit alongside them for individual accounts. Rates ran from 1.75% (Kraken, July 2026) to 7.4% (13 October 2026), and the same names serve a treasury, a platform running an earn program and an individual saver.

Rates move daily. Lending and savings rates are variable APYs, the Upshift figures are 30-day returns annualised on a simple basis, and the fund figures are each fund's own reported yield. Live rates for many of these products refresh every day on our stablecoin interest rates page.

Where does stablecoin yield come from on each platform?

Aave lends deposits to borrowers who post crypto collateral, and the rate rises when more of the pool is borrowed. Spark Savings paid the same 3.80% as Sky's savings rate on 13 October 2026. Morpho does the same through isolated markets, with a curator choosing which markets a vault such as Steakhouse USDC lends into. Sky pays its savings rate out of protocol revenue, which comes from crypto-backed loans and Treasury holdings. Ethena's staked USDe earns funding payments from short perpetual futures positions hedged against staked ETH and other assets. BUIDL and USTB hold short-dated US government securities and pass the interest through to shareholders.

The GENIUS Act, signed on 18 July 2025, bars issuers of payment stablecoins from paying holders interest or yield for holding the coin, which is why the yield on these platforms comes from lending, funds and vault strategies placed on top of the coin.

What does Upshift offer a stablecoin holder?

Upshift runs stablecoin vaults: smart contracts that take deposits, issue shares and let a curator, typically an asset manager or hedge fund, allocate the money within limits set per vault. Upshift prices each vault, checks the curator's reported value before it reaches depositors, and processes withdrawals daily. More than $550M has been deposited at peak across 50+ vaults on more than 30 chains, and the contracts have been through 11 smart contract audits by 6 firms.

Four of the stablecoin vaults, with their 30-day returns on 13 October 2026 (Upshift API, simple annualised):

  • Sentora USD (Ethereum): 7.38% on $97.0M, with Sentora as curator.
  • earnAUSD (Monad): 7.17% on $19.3M, earned on Agora's AUSD.
  • Gami earnUSDC (Stellar): 4.83% on $25.0M.
  • Upshift USDC (Ethereum): 3.91% on $2.1M. The vault lends to institutional borrowers, and most interest is paid at the end of each month, which means the 30-day figure reads low in the middle of a month.

A Prime Lending Vault that lends USDC to institutional trading desks is launching next.

The same vaults reach depositors three ways. Anyone can deposit in an open vault from a wallet at app.upshift.finance. A treasury or fund can get a permissioned vault limited to its own allow-listed wallets, which is how Kraken Institutional clients allocate into Upshift vaults from their qualified custody accounts, with the receipt token returned to the client's segregated account. And a platform can offer the vaults to its own users through the Upshift SDK, keeping a share of the fees. Tria and app.monad.xyz run on the SDK today. A new vault launches in a few days to 2 weeks.

How do treasuries and earn programs choose a stablecoin yield platform?

BUIDL takes only US qualified purchasers with $5 million or more, and USTB takes accredited investors who are also qualified purchasers, while Aave, Morpho, Sky and Spark take any wallet. A company below the BUIDL minimum, or outside the US investor categories, can still hold a stablecoin vault that keeps a USDC buffer for withdrawals. Our guide on how companies earn yield on treasury cash covers the accounting and policy side.

A platform running an earn program shows the vaults inside its own app, and its users compare the rate with what Coinbase and Kraken pay on exchange balances. Upshift's three risk bands set the menu: Cash vaults hold tokenized money market funds, Core vaults add lending and private credit, and Enhanced vaults run active strategies. Earn providers for exchanges and wallets compares the vendors that build these programs.

Lending pools pay out instantly until most of the pool is lent, after which withdrawals wait for borrowers to repay, while fund shares redeem the same or next day and sUSDe takes 7 days to unstake.

Which stablecoin yield providers support several chains?

Aave and Morpho run markets on Ethereum and several layer 2 networks, Sky and Spark span Ethereum and a handful of networks, and BUIDL is issued on several chains, including Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche (rates differ by chain). Upshift vaults run on more than 30 chains, including Monad, Solana and Stellar, with about $30M in Stellar vaults and about $9M in Solana vaults on 4 October 2026. One SDK, @augustdigital/sdk, covers EVM chains, Solana and Stellar.

Risks

  • Smart contract risk in every onchain product, including the fund tokens.
  • Liquidity: a lending pool or vault can delay withdrawals when most of its money is lent out.
  • Strategy and counterparty risk, from borrower defaults in lending to funding-rate swings in sUSDe and exchange risk on platform balances.
  • Stablecoin depeg risk on the coin itself.
  • Rates change daily, and no yield here is guaranteed.

Always make sure to do your own research and be aware of the above and any other risks before depositing.
