Stablecoin on and off ramps for business run through the issuer, an exchange or an API ramp. The bank transfer at each end of the route sets the hours.

A company that wires $2 million to its Circle Mint account gets 2 million USDC back with no minting fee, and a Standard-tier account can redeem up to $2 million net a day before Circle's 5 basis point fee applies.

Minting with the issuer is one of three stablecoin on ramp and off ramp routes open to a business: mint and redeem with an issuer such as Circle, Paxos or Tether, convert on an exchange such as Coinbase or Kraken, or plug into an API ramp such as Bridge, BVNK, Conduit or zerohash. The stablecoin leg moves onchain at any hour. The bank transfer at either end runs on its own clock: Bridge's wire and next-day ACH payouts, for example, close at 4:45pm ET on banking days.

Facts come from each provider's own pages, checked on 14 October 2026. Kraken's USDC listing comes from its list of supported cryptocurrencies. Card checkout widgets from MoonPay, Transak, Ramp Network, Coinbase Onramp and Stripe Onramp sit outside the table, which covers bank-funded routes. Card purchases through them cost 1.5% to 5.5% according to Spark's comparison.

Licences and owners, as each provider states them:

  • Circle: digital assets held through Circle LLC are custodied at Circle National Trust, a federally chartered trust bank, according to the Circle Mint page.
  • Paxos: an NYDFS limited purpose trust charter (2015), a MAS major payment institution licence (2022) and OCC oversight of Paxos Trust Company, N.A. (2025), per Paxos.
  • Bridge: owned by Stripe, which completed the acquisition on 4 February 2025. Bridge holds US state money transmitter licences under Bridge Building Inc. (NMLS 2450917), and its Luxembourg entity is authorised by the CSSF as a crypto-asset service provider and an e-money institution.
  • BVNK: 40+ licences and registrations, including an FCA-regulated e-money institution in the UK and money transmitter licences across the US, per BVNK.
  • Conduit: registered with FinCEN as a money services business and with FINTRAC in Canada, per Conduit.
  • MoonPay: MoonPay's business arm holds money transmitter licences in all 50 states, including a New York BitLicense.

How we chose

Every provider here moves a business between bank money and stablecoins in volume, and every figure is quoted as the provider states it. Upshift runs stablecoin vaults and doesn't offer a ramp, which is why it sits outside the table. The criteria were:

  • The fiat rails and stablecoins named on the provider's own site or API docs.
  • Published minimums and fees, never estimates.
  • Weekend hours, where the provider publishes them.
  • Licences only where the provider lists them on its own site.

How each stablecoin on ramp route works

Three stablecoin on-ramp routes for a business Three columns. Issuer mint: the company wires USD from its bank account to an issuer account at Circle Mint, Paxos or Tether, and the issuer mints stablecoins 1:1 to the company wallet. Exchange: the company funds an exchange account at Coinbase or Kraken, converts USD to USDC and withdraws to a wallet. API ramp: a customer pays on a local rail such as ACH, SEPA or Pix into a virtual account at a ramp such as Bridge, BVNK or Conduit, and the ramp sends stablecoins to any wallet. Off-ramps run the same path in reverse, and the bank leg sets the hours. Issuer mint Company bank account sends a USD wire Issuer account Circle Mint, Paxos, Tether Issuer mints 1:1 to the company wallet Approved institutions only; Tether: $100,000 min Exchange Company bank account funds the exchange Exchange account Coinbase, Kraken Convert USD to USDC then withdraw to a wallet Corporate account at the exchange API ramp Customer pays on a local rail (ACH, SEPA, Pix) Virtual account at the ramp (Bridge, BVNK, Conduit) Stablecoin sent to any wallet Platforms serving many customers through one API Off-ramps run each path in reverse. The stablecoin leg runs 24/7; the bank leg sets the hours. Green box = where the stablecoins land.

A business can mint with the issuer, convert on an exchange or route customer payments through an API ramp.

With an issuer, a business wires dollars to the company that issues the coin and receives newly minted tokens at 1:1. Redemption burns the tokens and wires dollars back. Circle Mint serves exchanges, institutional traders, wallet providers, banks and consumer-app companies, and Circle says it's not available to individuals. Under the USDC terms, only holders with a registered Circle Mint account can redeem USDC with Circle. Paxos runs the same model for USDG and PYUSD through an institutional account, and Tether sets a $100,000 minimum for USDT.

On an exchange, the business funds a corporate account and converts. Coinbase converts USD to USDC and back, and its fee disclosures show a 0.10% fee only on net conversion above $5M in a rolling 30 days.

An API ramp gives each of a platform's customers a virtual bank account. Money in on a local rail (ACH in the US, SEPA in Europe, Pix in Brazil) comes out as stablecoins in any wallet, and off-ramps reverse the path to the customer's bank. Bridge, BVNK and Conduit each list their own licences or registrations, and Conduit says it handles KYB and AML checks for the accounts it opens. The stablecoin payout API comparison covers payouts.

Weekend hours and cutoff times

The stablecoin can move on a Sunday. The dollars usually wait for Monday, unless both ends sit on an instant rail. Bridge's published cutoff table splits its rails into two groups:

  • FedNow, SEPA Instant, SPEI, Pix, Faster Payments and Colombia's Bre-B run 24/7/365 with no cutoff, though FedNow payouts are still an invitation-only beta.
  • Next Day ACH and wires close at 4:45pm ET on banking days, Same Day ACH has windows at 9:30am, 1:45pm and 2:30pm ET, and SEPA Credit closes at 7am ET.

Paxos draws the same line. Its fiat transfer docs say USD wires aren't processed on weekends or US bank holidays, domestic wire withdrawals can take 1-3 business days, and international wires 1-5 days. CUBIX transfers run 24/7, though Paxos warns some take longer. At Bridge, a SEPA transfer above EUR 1 million goes over SEPA Credit instead of SEPA Instant, which Bridge lists at one to three business days for payouts.

And zerohash processes fiat withdrawals once a day between 4pm and 5pm Central, with a 4:30pm Central cutoff for same-day USD wires. A US wire that has to land before Monday has to leave before Friday's cutoff, and our post on funding weekend payouts walks through that Friday balance.

Redemption at par or at a spread

Issuer redemption is at par, less any fee. Circle's redemption structure since 15 March 2026 has three tiers:

  • Basic: no daily fee, processing in up to two business days.
  • Standard: 5 bps on net redemptions above $2M a day, near-instant, with a $10M daily gross limit (down from $25M).
  • Institutional: 5 bps on gross redemptions, near-instant, with credits of 25% to 100% of the fee for customers who mint more than they redeem in the month.
  • Basic and Institutional customers who redeem more than they mint pay an extra 2 bps on monthly net redemptions between $40M and $100M, and 5 bps above $100M.

On $10M redeemed in a day, a Standard customer with no mints pays 5 bps on $8M, or $4,000. Tether's floor works differently: a $100,000 redemption costs $1,000, while $5M costs $5,000 at 0.1%. Paxos charges no fee to mint or redeem USDG or PYUSD. Coinbase charges 0.10% on net USDC conversion above $5M in a rolling 30 days. An exchange order book or an API ramp that trades a coin instead of redeeming it can add a spread, and most ramps don't publish one.

What happens to the USDC once it lands

It sits in a wallet until payroll, a supplier payout or a prefunded corridor needs it. Under the GENIUS Act, signed on 18 July 2025, a payment stablecoin issuer can't pay holders interest for holding the coin, which means any return on the balance comes from a product placed on top of it.

Ramp, the corporate card company (a different thing from an on ramp), offers businesses a stablecoin account for USDC, USDT and OUSD, in supported jurisdictions. It pays up to 3.25% in rewards on the average daily balance to accounts that deposit at least $5,000 and make five qualifying payments a month, and Bridge provides the custody.

Upshift runs stablecoin vaults where that USDC can earn between the on-ramp and the payout. A business can start with a Cash vault holding 24/7 tokenized money market funds and can add Core or Enhanced vaults later through the same SDK, with asset managers and curators running the strategies inside each vault. Most vaults use a 72-hour withdrawal period, and an instant exit is available up to the vault's USDC buffer, for a fee.

In a vault with a 72-hour period, a withdrawal requested on Tuesday morning is due back on Friday morning, ahead of Bridge's 4:45pm ET wire cutoff that day. Stablecoin orchestration covers where the vault sits in the payment stack, and USDC yield compares the other places a balance can earn. No yield is guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions

What is a stablecoin on-ramp?

A stablecoin on-ramp turns bank money into stablecoins, and an off-ramp turns them back. Card checkout widgets built for individuals charge 1.5% to 5.5% on card purchases, per Spark's comparison.

How do businesses convert USD to USDC?

A business with a Circle Mint account wires USD to Circle and receives USDC at 1:1, with no fee to mint. Without one, it converts on an exchange such as Coinbase or through an API ramp such as Bridge, which accepts ACH, wire and FedNow.

How much do stablecoin on-ramp fees cost?

Minting with Circle or Paxos carries no issuer fee, and ACH and SEPA transfers into retail on-ramps cost 0% to 2% per Spark's comparison. zerohash sets pricing through its sales team, and Bridge and Conduit don't publish fees on the pages we checked.

Who can mint USDC directly with Circle?

Businesses approved for Circle Mint, such as exchanges, institutional traders, wallet providers, banks and consumer apps. Individuals can't open an account, and Circle points them to exchanges and apps instead.

Can I off-ramp stablecoins on weekends?

Yes, when the payout rail runs on weekends. Bridge pays out over SEPA Instant, Pix, SPEI and Faster Payments 24/7/365, and FedNow payouts are in an invitation-only beta. US wires and ACH wait for the next banking day.

Do I need KYC/KYB to use a stablecoin on-ramp?

Yes. Circle Mint approval takes one day to a week or more after background, ID, KYC and sanctions checks. Conduit says it opens standard accounts through its API the same day without a manual KYC review.
